Budget = $60 million
I did a double take when I saw the size of the budget for this film.
A movie with that big a budget really needs to be a sizeable hit to get its costs back, let alone begin to generate profits. Given the subject content, IMO it was unlikely to be ever a crowd drawer in the multiplexes.
It begs the question. Why spend so much money? I don't even think it looks like a $60 million film.
It's kind of ironic when one of the chief underlying themes of the film is the problems faced by the homeless and the lack of public funding directed towards assisting them.
