That scene made me giggle because it was one of th best digs at THE CHRISTMAS CAROL in the movie, and quite unexpected...

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world

The "is it Christmas?" is a reference to Dickens "Christmas Carol" upon which this movie is loosely based

if you watch the special features on the bluray (or dvd, i suppose)...there is an alternate opening which establishes this weekend as the weekend after Christmas or at least the current time taking place NEAR Christmas...take it as you may...regardless the line is supposed to be a joke as the earlier post explains

Absolutely the funniest line of the movie. And to "jr", you're ignorance is astounding. You do know who Charles Dickens is; and that this is a parody to A CHRISTMAS CAROL... Right? Apparently not.

Yes, I know that it's a (bad) parody of A Christmas Carol, idiot!!! But that doesn't mean that every part of the story should be put in the movie. That part just felt random, out of place and non-sensical.

No, but here's something else funny. You have Michael Douglas and Anne Archer in this film. Remember, they were a married couple in Fatal Attraction.

Funniest part of the film. I'm just sorry there wasn't a Tiny Tim character somewhere in the film. I wish it had paralleled Dicken's Christmas classic a bit more to add more punch to the humor.
