wow.. .fantastic film

Really enojoyed the action pieces. Nice long fight scenes creative and fresh.

The plot was redundant and didn't need to be rehashed as much.

We need to stop waiting for the US to release action martial arts movies, Korea and China own the gate!

Any similar (american) movies?

I was planning on watching this one, but don't really know what to expect?

I haven't really seen a lot of asian/martial arts movies..

This film has the style and hommage of Kill bill Vol 1. A real surprise.

Not much in the American market for martial arts films. Asia (Wu Jing's Fatal Contact), this film A City of Violence, and the new Tony Jaa film Ong Bak 2 are real treats.

The Matrix (Wachowskis) and producer Joel Silver worked on Ninja Assasin with no said release date. This looks like it would be the closest. We'll see.

Thanks,

It was okay. If you're only watching for fight scenes, it's great. But the plot was rather thin.

So... do you like... stuff?

I was actually disappointed. Some of the fight scenes were a lot of fun, but they started to drag toward the end and just became tiresomely overlong by the last few fights (thinking back on it now, only the knife fight portion really stood out to me). It's my own unwritten rule of thumb that these climactic "hero storm the villain's fortress to exact revenge" action scenes (one of my favorite types of action scenes, really) usually work best when they run relatively quick, since it allows for a much stronger cathartic release and ensures that momentum won't be lost. The Man From Nowhere, Taken, Equilibrium, and Kiss of the Dragon were films I felt that pulled such scenes off beautifully.
