Should we thank god its cancelled, when we all know god doesnt exist?

lets think about it. the phrase seems harmless enough. "thank god this show was cancelled".

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm as glad as the next guy that this show was cancelled. There are too many women on TV nowdays as it is.

But should we really thank God for it, when we all know that God doesn't exist?

Now, I know what you are thinking. "But Fliphop, there was a programming director at Comedy Central whose first name was God. And he cancelled the show. Literally, God cancelled the show. So thank God".

No. I have a full list of the programming directors of Comedy Central from 2009-2011, and none of them were named God. There was one named Jesus. But then, shouldn't you be thanking Jesus?

Now, I know what you're thinking. Jesus and God form a tripartite unity, so that literally, Jesus is the Son of God but he is also Our Lord. So technically, he is God.

But that's ridiculous! That's like calling Steve his own dad. That's *beep* up. I don't care how you slice it. Being your own dad means that you had sex with your own mother, before you were born. And Jesus' mom was Mary, and we all know she was a Virgin, so that couldn't have happened.

Anyways.

I think we need to just say "Thank you, the show was cancelled". Because in the end, didn't we all play an important role in getting it off the airwaves? Wasn't it the guy just working hard for a paycheck every week, wasn't it the firefighter who marched into those towers, knowing what lay ahead... wasn't it the soldier in Afghanistan, going on patrol after patrol, without once asking, "What's in it for me?" Because they knew, their country needed them. More than they needed it. And that, my friends, is why we say Thank You. And You. And You. For cancelling the Sarah Silverman Program.

Never Again.

It's ok, not everyone gets it. You don't need to feel shame.
