I liked the short, but maybe I'm looking too hard for what it "means"... Anyway, what was the injectible in the bottle? It's almost readable, but not quite. I don't suspect anyone knows what the pills are supposed to be...

I think the drug is supposed to be his memories, not an actual real-life drug. It's a metaphor for being addicted to your past and how that can ruin your life, instead of moving on and creating a new future for yourself.

There's an interview over at brandonrouth.com in the Denial section. Joel Kelly is being interviewed, and he talks about the "drug".
