their accents...

were all skewed... i dont know what was going on there. does anyone else?

reply

Well i'm Welsh and have a holiday home in New Quay and for my money their accents were pretty decent, though they did tend to drift and fall into the trap of being overly Welsh sometimes. Kiera was the best, the others were fairly decent but would struggle to pass for locals.

So Kiera, from Middlesex, had a better Welsh accent than the Matthew Rhys who's actually from Wales?

But Dylan Thomas put on something of an English accent, as is noted in the movie. So its a little difficult to judge Rhys' accent, as it is more of an "impression".

If Dylan had talked in his normal Welsh accent, then i'm sure Rhys would have nailed it, but since he didn't its a little hard to judge.

reply

Ah I see.
Yeah I knew about Thomas' accent. It's just been a while since I watched the movie that I didn't remember If Rhys kept it up.

Im from South Wales and Keira's accent was great. Even local papers here when reviewing the movie commented on how good her accent was. I was very impressed. Her accent flowed naturally and didnt sound forced.
Cant really judge Sienna's accent because she took the part at the very last minete because Lindsay Lohan dropped out. So she had very little time to prepare for the role.
