Has the Wedge been axed?

Just read on TV Tonight that The Wedge will not screen this Sunday night. Is this the end? Or will it be back at a later date?

I thought there was trouble when I saw that the show's message board is pretty empty. When people can't even be bothered to hate a show, let alone like it, then the end is nigh.

No, it's probably just taking a break like Thank God You're Here. I suspect it'll also have a new timeslot when it's back http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2007/08/wedged-out

reply

Not sure about that. TGYH is taking a break for Idol. What the Wedge taking a break for? Happy Gilmore? It seems strange to me.

reply

Idol is soon to have Sunday night performance shows.

It is official. It is not axed. They're just thinking of a better timeslot. Info via the official Wedge website.

The viewing numbers in the old timeslot haven't been too good at all. 500,000 viewers per episode. If it doesn't do well (doubt it) in the new timeslot, it may be axed or rescheduled.

After watching last week's epsidode I'm not surprised, or upset, to see it gone tonight. I don't recall laughing once during that whole episode. Such a waste of good talent :/

i love my cat!

I laughed. Bitterly.

Colonelcraud, just a question. Did you actually even watch the first episode.

reply

Unlike most of the country, yes. Unless it was a repeat of last week's; I can't tell. It was the one where the guy at the press conference apologises, right? That episode was awesome. All 32 of it.

Preempting your response: I watch it because I've got the TV on while I'm working.

Now I get to ask you a question: Do you work on the show, or are you related to somebody who works on the show? Because you post endless defenses of it here and you're responsible for ritually purging the Wikipedia entry of anything approaching criticism (because quoting TV critics is biased, unless they happened to say something good, in which case it's fair and balanced). I'll accept that people watch the show, but I can't imagine why anybody would actually *care* about it unless they had an agenda.

reply

Colonelcraud, I can vouch for Shaggy not having anything to do with the show. He's 12 years-old.

reply

Thank-you tiprun. You're wesome. And no, I'm 12 years -coming to 13 year-old this coming week and all I have ever done is contact some cast and crew members via their myspace. Oh and colonelcraud, do you remeber any othe sketch from the first episode.
