I haven't been able to read many Hellboy comics. I was wondering if this is based on one particular comic or are these animated movies just new stories all together.

New stories, that is unless they are based of some hellboy comic that isn't written and drawn by Mike Mignola. But i doubt it.

Blood and Iron was an all new story with nods to some of the stories in the comics (Hecate in the iron maiden being the main one I can think about). Sword of Storms also had a nod to the comics with the floating heads.
