Actor's who's career's died after doing movies with kids

I'll start us off

Eddie Murphy - Daddy Day Care

reply

I wouldn't say his career "died" per say, although I can acknowledge that it was a bad choice. In fact, a few years later wasn't he nominated for an Oscar?

reply

Vin Diesel - The Pacifier

You may argue with me on this one.

Ice Cube- Are We There Yet?

reply

No, totally agree about ice cube

Hey, DmannammD-
Please learn how to use an apostrophe! It is not used in plural words, such as "actors" or "careers"!
People just keep getting dumber and dumber.

reply

sharon-17, Thankyou!

Everywhere I turn lately, people are using apostrophes for plurals, it drives me nuts.

reply

umm... he was nominated for an oscar after that, so I don't think his career is dead.

reply

Yeah, but there was a lot of kids movies that were really successful with actors in them. I think comedian + kids movie is a great combination. Will Farrell in elf? Fantastic! Jim Carrey in the Grinch, another good one.

And I don't care what anyone says, Kindergarten cop is one of my all time favorite camp classics!

reply

Will farrel is known for making kids movies, what they are getting at is serious actors who made the transition from action/hardcore movies to kids movies.

THe problem is not going from action to kids movies but going back to action once you have delved in the area of kids movies.

not a lot of actors can do it.

arnold is one such actor who went from being a guy who used to decapitate his enemies with his barehands to the lovable twin brother with danny devito.

See that could have destroyed his career, but it was a good choice for him because it showed the world that he wasn't just an actionman he had feelings and was warm and funny. it pretty much cemented his position as a serious actor in hollywood.

only other action guy whos managed to do the same thing is bruce willis.

reply

Eddie Murphy's career is still alive and kicking, and he seems to be regularly churning out his annual helping of fecal matter with last year's Norbit and, so it seems, with the upcoming Meet Dave.

Sly's career didn't end with stop or my mom will shoot, he made cliffhanger, judge dredd, and demolition man right afterwards.

And arnie in kindergarden cop? That movie was actually pretty funny and he did plenty of others after it

reply

The Rock made one movie with kids, but his career is obviously not dead, not even close.

Hulk Hogan did such a movie, but never had much of an acting career to begin with.

So I nominate Burt Reynolds for Cop and a Half. Although he was starring in the CBS TV show Evening Shade at the time, that didn't last much longer afterwards anyway.

You are joking, right? Nothing reeks more of desperation and a dying career than rehashing an 80s franchise that ended with a thud (Bev Hills Cop III sucked balls). Hollywood sucks anymore. No talent. No creativity. Just throw some action and silly excuses for dialogue on the screen and the studio can collect. Barf.

Billy Bob Thornton:

Mr. Woodcock
School for Scoundrels
Bad News Bears

If the person who said-

Arnold - Kindergarten Kop
Sly - Stop or my Mom Will Shoot (Old people and kids are the same)

I loved both those movies…..!! both I watch over and over and they always cheer me up.
Sly’s career defiantly didn’t die…if anything, he is doing VERY well for himself!

For the person who said Eddie Murphy is churning out his annual fecal matter….i am with you there!! Where would we be without the usual round of Murphy crap year in year out, although he was pretty good in Dream Girls

reply

A lot of terrible nominations and reasoning. I would have to agree with Eddie Murphy though especially now that it is 2016.
