Unrealistic movie.

Cute girl chasing after a boy and the boy isn't interested? Get the *beep* out of here.

reply

Wtf? This happens all the time. A boy won't automatically be interested because a girl is cute, there are a billion factors. When I was in high school there were all sorts of situations where cute people would get rejected because their personality wasn't liked by the object of their affection or they were in the wrong social group or they were too scared to have a relationship etc. Now I do joke about men being stupid but what makes you think they'll be interested in anyone as long as they're cute (very subjective btw, and when it comes down to it most little girls are quite pretty).

You have to consider the circumstances surrounding that :)

He didn't see her as a cute girl.He ran away from her because he thought she was this weird girl that's always chased him.
His perception of her changed when his Grandfather had him look at her in a different light.

I like the fact that we got too see the point of view of both characters during each scene.

Please don't tell me that a movie can be *unrealistic!

No one has ever quoted me back to me before.

lol...true... but consider the fact that he was still a small kid.....therefore may think of cute girls differently........but u see, it changes as he grows up :)

Not to be too critical but do you remember grammar school and Jr. high? Even in high school if a girl wasn't considered super hot a boy might easily be embarrassed by having a girl show interest in him. Esp. since they were very young when it started - it's like having a sister.

I was this way with plenty of girls all through high school and knew many other kids. Kids are incredibly self-conscious - that aspect is actually one of the strengths of this movie.

Nothing was unrealistic about this movie - except for the bad reviews.

You need to get out more. You sound very naive.

Seth Cohen: I'm allergic, and there's so much pollen in here right now. It's ridiculous.

The girl wasn't that cute. Plus, I felt like they definitely made her a bit of an outcast. She marched to her own drummer and seemed to really not care too much about what other people thought of her -- even with Bryce, she wanted him to like her, but she wanted him to like her as she was and never really contemplated changing for him. One of the sad things in the movie is that I wondered if maybe Bryce actually *was* her best friend, since they didn't give any real indication that she had other friends.

reply

She seemed to be good friends with the cute blonde girl who told her Bryce was interested in her. The movie just did not focus on it so much and Juli was quite independent and did not seem like the type to want to engage in sleepovers, etc.

"The girl wasn't that cute."
WHAT? She was so adorable. Fantastic eyebrows...she'll be a knock-out when she grows up.

reply

agree, and also thought it was sad she didn't seem to have friends.
