This was the movie to finally give me zombie fatigue

For me it's the opposite, in the sense that this was the last thing in the zombie genre that was interesting and offered something a bit different. Most other zombie movies or shows have dealt with some localised zombie outbreak, but in this one you get to see it as a world wide crisis with somebody searching the globe for answers. It has some effectively done scenes of the outbreak gathering pace among large groups of people, such as in Philadelphia, Israel and on the plane.

By comparison something like The Walking Dead or anything else that focuses on the tired cliched plot of a small group of survivors moving from location to location trying to outrun or outwalk the zombies, have become as dull as dishwater now.
