There was so much hype over this movie when it was in pre-production. Then it died

When the info about the zombies leaked people just gave up on it. Creating those weird zombie tweakers instead of traditional zombies had a whole domino effect on the rest of the story, irrevocably changing EVERYTHING. From that point on it just wasn't World War Z anymore. A lot of people suspect that he political nature of the book is what destroyed the film. and the studio got cold feet making a big budget R-Rated horror film that was also suppose to be a Geo-political thriller. So we got this safe popcorn trash instead.
