How did a Zeke get in the airplane?

Maybe I wasn't paying attention.

Yeah. It seemed like they just wanted an action sequence.

Gerry witnessed them change after 12scs... the SEAL in S.Korea said 10-15 mins. So a mixed verdict on how long it takes. So no "Lazy writing" really. As for how it/he got onto the plane is never revealed... Maybe he died stowing away?? Dunno... up to you.

In the book it's called a slow burn: when someone is bitten they flip faster than those who have contracted the virus differently. Plus, the virus mutates a lot affecting flipping time.

reply

What other ways were there to contract it? Gerry got blood in his mouth but it didn't do anything. Other than bites I font revel, another way that was addressed. (In the movie)

Perhaps someone had gotten infected back before the virus took only 10-12 seconds to turn the victim into a zombie, and then boarded the plane back in Belarus or wherever it was from. The plane was diverted to Israel (being the last safe country), which then had to flee. By this time, the individual had turned into a zombie. Or the person turned into a zombie before they arrived in Israel, but hadn't been discovered yet.

I always thought it was possible that one of the zombies had managed to grab onto the landing gear or something, then crawled up into the plane. Isn't the area where it was discovered where the entrance to the cargo bay is anyway? I could be wrong but I had the feeling with all the hoards of zombies swarming the runway that at least one of them had gotten onto the aircraft somehow.

Can't be too careful with all those weirdos running around.

reply

It never occurred to me that some wouldn't have made it on the plane..

reply

I am pretty sure he was a stowaway from the airport. There were hundreds of them running alongside the runway, and I think he was supposed to have climbed up the landing gear somehow.

I just thought it was crazy that Gerry and the soldier were the ONLY ones who made it through the crash, come on now.

reply

Yeah, and not only that, but they crashed within walking distance from the WHO facility that they needed to get to 😖

reply

well they were on the final decent into cardiff, where the WHO was located. They then walked from the crash to the town. But you really can't tell how far they were from town since the movie would obviously time travel a bit.

I was actually surprised there was no military presence at the WHO. They have lethal strains of the worlds most dangerous diseases and just a few scientists to protect them? I would hope that's not really the way these places operate - no security and lots of windows to access.

One of the zombies survived but was trapped in a seat. I've been wondering if Gerry or Segen killed it to avoid it getting loose and infected others.

I don't believe the person was in the plane mid-flight when he turned, I believe he was already zeke when the flight took off.

The attendant presses a button which I believe was the "dumbwiater/elevator" to the belly of the plane. The zeke had been in there already and when the elevator came up and doors open, he popped out.

reply

From my watching of the movie he was in the elevator that has the food storage (or something similar). So, he was somehow 'in the plane' the whole time, but did show until the steward opened the door to the elevator.

I wanna know why there were planes there in the first place. It seems to have been taking off or just landed so why was the airport operational? Were they just letting people fly in despite the risk or where on earth was it going since European airports were locked down (and really all airports in the world that had some sort of functioning system should have been).
