DUST is the villain

And people think this is a good Sci-fi movie

Only blind Nolanites. I'm a Nolan fan, but his storytelling became embarrassing.

What's hilarious is how the Nolanites will nitpick other sci-fi stories to death, but then turn a blind eye to stuff that Nolan makes. After he made an amazing Joker in The Dark Knight, Nolan attracted a huge fanbase of sociopaths and highly aggressive, insecure man-children.

Wasn't it the dust always flowing in the air that prevents crops from growing properly? The thing I don't get is why and how does it penetrate the walls of the house, ending up on the kitchen counter, table, beds, couches, etc. What was the reason that crops couldn't be grown indoors with lamps, water, fertilizers, etc.

It was probably explained in the movie and I missed it, but if anyone know just type to me here.

The blight that killed the crops was a fungus I believe, it was affecting all plants and was basically impossible to avoid. Bringing plants and growing them in isolation was shown to be useless... Yet somehow that was also known to be and shown to be the ultimate answer. Very contradictory.

The dust was caused by crop loss. Barren fields where the dirt gets picked up by wind. Just like how forest fires can lead to mudslides when it rains, because the plants helped hold the dirt in place.

Yeah and even if the plants on the surface are affected, I wonder about the plants and seeds that were already isolated from the world, such as the Seed Vault in Norway I believe, no easy way to be contaminated. I guess those were transported to the Space Station we see at the end of the movie.

1. People open doors and windows. Dust gets in that way, it's unavoidable, unless you have an airlock on each door. Murphy left her window open during a dust storm, so large amounts of dust got in. You think they are going to easily get all that dust out of the air?

2. Yes, an individual could grow a SMALL amount of food indoors. But look at how large those cornfields are. It's not economically feasible to move an entire field indoors.

The story is similar to Contact, but still Contact with much less visuals and CGI made a better movie in my opinion. Interstellar it's not bad, it is memorable but not as good as they claim the Nolan fans
