The Spaceships

I'm confused as to what's what in this movie. They used a traditional three stage rocket to get off the earth, then docked with the endurance mothership, and used very sleek craft to explore the other planets. What happened to the three stage rocket?

reply

The spent stages re-entered the Earth's atmosphere and what wasn't burned up fell either into the Atlantic ocean, or most likely for the first stage somewhere around the northeastern United States.

That black guy who was alone on the ship and because of time dilation many years went by with him alone on there, I think it was like 20 years? He had ENOUGH AIR TO BREATHE, ENOUGH FOOD AND WATER AND LIFE SUPPORT and he DID NOT GO FLAT OUT INSANE FROM WHAT AMOUNTED TO SOLITARY CONFINEMENT.

reply

He did say he'd had some periods of hibernation, but yes he had aged significantly.

...then whoa, differences...

Although the movie was good, the amount of plot holes was amazing. When they went to the water planet, they never looked at the planet ahead of time to see it was covered in huge oceans? Seriously?
There were lots of huge holes in it, but it was still entertaining.

reply

He was in hibernation most of the time.

You make a good point. Their various craft seemed quit capable of easily landing and taking off to orbit from the planets in the other galaxy, why all the kerfuffle reaching orbit at Earth?
