Japanese version of The Little Matchgirl?

I have heard that there is a japanese version of this tale. Please, if anyone has info about it, please let me now. Thanks.

There is no dialog. The only word appearing is the Russian word for "Toys" on the toy shop.

And the Japanese are familiar with the story of the little match girl ("macchi-bou no shoujo"). It should be understood perfectly well as-is.

That's what his stare has been saying to me all along: 'At least I galloped--when did you?'

Thank you KFL, but that wasn't what I meant. I have heard that there is a cartoon of the tale The Little Matchgirl made in Japan with dialogs.

Aha. Sorry for the irrelevant response.

A quick search of Amazon Japan (amazon.co.jp) and the Japanese movie database at www.jmdb.ne.jp turns up nothing.

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_little_matchgirl) has some info that might interest you:

In 2003, The Little Match Girl was adapted into a short story manga by Hans Tseng and was featured in the first volume of Tokyopop's Rising Stars of Manga.

Is that the version you're referring to? If it isn't, perhaps one of the other listed versions at Wikipedia is.

Is that the version where the Little Match Girl is exposed to nuclear radiation and grows to monstrous size and spits fire at the people who refused to buy her matches and then they have to build a giant fire-proof robot to fight her but she ends up being defeated by her own grandmother who takes her in a spaceship to the Fire Planet?

No? Sorry.
