Reminded me of 'Unsolved Mysteries' - I liked it.

Back in the early 90s was Robert Stack's Unsolved Mysteries. They'd do segments on criminals, lost treasures, and supernatuaral events. This movie felt a LOT like an Unsolved Mysteries segment with it's documentary feel. I liked the slow progression of creepy and odd pieces of the puzzle of the girl's late life and death.

I agree. I'll go one further and suggest the story would have been better off trimmed down to a 30-minute episode of something like that too. It was a good idea, but there wasn't enough to it to carry a full-length feature.

Oh, I loved the old Unsolved Mysteries show with Robert Stack, he had such a great voice. This really took me back to that time when you could actually believe something like this was happening, especially that one episode where they are talking about dopplegangers, which even though I haven't seen anyone mention it, is what Alice saw that night at the lake. This was such a creepy movie, I liked it very much.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
