Obviously opinions vary on this movie, but for those who liked it: what other unsung horror movies would you recommend? What else scares you? I'm always on the look out for lesser-known horror movies, as they are often the best.

Hi, I'm planning to see some of the movies you recommended here, but are they all good? I mean are they based on the same mechanics as Lake Mungo does of para document or you are mentioning them because you found them to be really good and scary? I'm asking for I won't have time to see them all so seeking recommendation.
shareOnly The Last Broadcast is comparable to Lake Mungo the rest are what I think are underrated and good horror films [but perhaps an aquired taste]. Society and Dust Devil are my favourites.
shareA Thai film called 'Shutter'(not the remake). Snowtown, not a horror but very unsettling.

Science can't explain everything, but religion can't explain anything.
A few pointers to recent films:
"The Poughkeepsie Tapes" for the faux documentary style,
"The Pact" for the haunted house story with a non-supernatural twist
"Sinister" for the notion of film capturing a spirit/demon
That said, Lake Mungo is pretty original. Can't think for instance of a similar movie with such a creepy, unresolved ending.

I personally loved "The conspiracy" (2012)
The Disappeared - Similar feel even though it's not a mockumentary.

shareI saw THE TUNNEL MOVIE before I saw Lake Mungo, and it seemed a lot alike it the method of plot delivery.
I thought well of both!
