Watched the movie? Give your opinion!

Having watched the film twice last week, I just need to say that I was way too critical and sceptical during my first viewing and liked the film much better the second time I saw it.

I'm not saying it is perfect nor that every last bit is to my taste, but considering the first review, which has been on this board for quite a while, I can't justify the critisism that was given there.

Plus - I've become a fan of Ben Silverstone during the filming of the movie and that has not changed after I saw the final product - on the contrary. It's a pity his work was not properly acknowledged on the night of the premiere.

Moreover I admit that it's additional fun for an Austrian to watch familiar places become different ones - with additional cg snowcapped mountains and all the different places mixed into one venue - but my final words for all of you (Non-Austrians) are as follows:

Go watch it and build yourselves your own opinion - it's worth it!

Anybody else out there who saw "Jump" - please share your opinion as well!

Cheers.

I watched the movie last week at the premiere in Linz and liked it very much.
This must be a different version , than the one discussed in this board.
Go watch the "NEW" version, i think you'll like it too.

The film was OK, and although I felt actually, that Phillipes hesitation a few
times, particularly towards the end, contributed a little to him feeling very
guilty about his father's death, and taking photos of him after he died?????
When he knew the head injuries were not done by him then it made me question
whether he was indeed culpable?
Acting was fine, and if it was another 'Don't forget the holocaust, then I can
imagine some would not tolerate it. However, it happened. And what this film
illustrated the writing was on the wall in 1928 and Hitler gave the Jews warnings
to get out in and before 1933.

Yes the film was understated, and for that reason I liked it very much. The scenery was great too. A very majestic part of Europe.

I saw the first half, still waiting on the 2nd (ahem). Anyway, it is kind of a "never forget" type of movie. It's clunky, the acting is fairly wooden and it has a made-for-tv feel. Basically if you're not interested in the issue of antisemitism, it doesn't have much else to offer.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. And working in the filmbiz I saw many bad movies.

Quite right. I noticed that as well. I screamed at the screen a few times as well for phrasing coming out of the sixties and seventies.

Wooden acting, ultimately a "stoopit" movie that had a major flaw: the movie starts in 50's New York in the Chrysler building with the protagonist ALIVE. So much for creating a sense of tension throughout the movie, as we KNOW that he gets out of the situation. Right at the point where he is arrested, I said, "why are we watching this, if we know that he winds up being a famous photographer?"

I also did not like the pitiful acting on the part of Swayze. Geeze. He could have done much better.
