Saw this movie. Here are some observations.

1) Trailers can make crap movies look good.
2) Cool posters do not make a crap movie good.
3) No CGI does *not* make a crap movie automatically good.
4) Was everyone high when they watched this movie who said it was sooo funny?
5) Just because the a movie PRACTICALLY TELLS YOU it's a cult classic doesn't mean it will be.
6) The monster that kills Jacks parents happens to STILL be wandering around the same area after all those years?
7) Robert Englund's insatiable appetite leads him to..... KFC???

I saw it--I didn't like it, but didn't think it was AWFUL. I think it needed less action/horror, more funny stuff. I thought the interaction with Jack and his girlfriend, etc. was pretty funny. I would have preferred more of that than Robert Englund's transformation, and some of the fights.

This movie is good for what it is, if you try to overanalyze it you're going to end up hating it. Its meant to be a horror comedy to entertain people and for me it did just that.

Great observations, the movie had a few good parts but overall it felt like a cheap Evil Dead clone.
I will watch the sequel, because there is a chance that it'll get better since this one had to give us the whole origin story of JB, I'm not getting my hopes up though :).

It was fun... felt like the 80's again. Robert Englund was fantastic.

PLUS what a pleasure to see actual puppets and real makeup work instead of some CGI mess.

Here's an observation: If you took this movie seriously, you only have yourself to blame.

I thought it was a fun movie. Just because you don't like it doesn't automatically mean everyone's not going to like it.
