Were you a book thief?

Be honest, have you ever stolen a book(s) before? Any reason?

I have stolen exactly 10 books. When I was in the third grade I finally read my first chapter book. I was so happy that I didn't want to let the book go so after I returned it to the school library, I went back, put it in my backpack then took it home. Since then, I have taken one book from my school library every year. Why? because when I was younger I didnt have friends; books were my friends. I'm 21 now and the last book I took was when I was a senior in high school. Can you guess what book I stole? That's right, The Book Thief. Usually I read the book before I took but I just saw, thought it was fate and took it. I actually felt bad for stealing the book, so I wrote the librarians a letter telling them I took the book, why I stole it, left them $20 in the envelope and of course I signed it "The Book Thief".
