Ending (Spoiler)
Talk about depressing. They could easily have let Grace survive.

The open-ended thing is what makes it so damn stupid. It was based on real events; why was there no final info at the end??
share'Coz it was only "based on", not "a depiction of".
They don't make clear what prompted the story, but the real events it was most likely based on involved three young guys in a similar situation. So the idea was real(ish), but all the details were changed anyway. From there, the filmmakers were free to take the story anywhere they wanted.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
Nothing wrong with the open-ended ending..besides this film barely followed the actual events except for the croc attack premise. heck if you thought it followed the actual real events , you could've just googled what happened actually and get your 'final info' .
shareI think it was brilliant how they had the pregnant lady die at the end (sad, but brilliant). It was very unexpected. At the very beginning, when it was said that she was pregnant, I pretty much rolled my eyes and said "Well I guess she'll be the survivor." After she was attacked but got away, I was thinking, "Of course she's going to live, she's pregnant, that's a total indication that she'll live." But then the end came and, nope, she bled out and died. I was shocked by their boldness, like "Holy sh*t, they actually killed her off." Totally unexpected.
shareTotally agree. I definitely appreciated the (albeit sad) decision to they kill her off since it broke the stereotypes and made the movie less cookie cutter.
shareThere was no "decision" to kill her off, she looked like she could be in a coma. No proof at all that she died, and I'm now much happier for the open ending.
