Is anyone bothered by their swimsuits?

Whats with all the changes?@.@

I mean, yeah I know that each repitition is suppose to be different in their own ways. Things are maybe said in a different tone, same actions are still carried out but they happen differently, change of clothes, yaddy yaddy yada.

Though who the heck has that many swimsuites?!O.o

I mean, so far we've seen 5 different swim suits for each of them....and this repeition last for over 15,000 times?

Its not really a big deal or anything. I'm just being nick picky and neurotic. But does anyone notices this or bothers them? Who has that many swimsuites? I thought only having one or two was normal but dear lord. They have as many swimsuites as they do clothes. lol

reply

That's pretty funny, actually. I hadn't noticed.

reply

Huh. Now I'm wondering if I'd have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. I think I probably would have, but even so.

Let's be GRATEFUL for the changing swimsuits- if they kept that the same, the episodes would be more boring tiresome than they are now.

On the subject of clothes though- why does Yuki wear her uniform all the time?? I find it a little strange, esp. since none of the others have mentioned it. Actually, scratch that. I would at least expect Haruhi to mention it, but she hasn't.

And why does Yuki pick out a mask each time? How can she find them interesting after 595 years' worth of seeing them?!

Sorry, this post has gone off at a tangent, hasn't it? ^_^

reply

Its all good.

I think the reason why Yuki keep buying the mask is b/c....well that's just the way she is. Like when Kyon asked her why she hasn't said anything, she replies that her only duty is to observed and thats that.

Its not her duty, or w/in her mindset to change anything, nor is it to keep it the same. She's just suppose to be the most objective unattached observer so she can record all the information she's suppose to. That's her job isn't from whoever is her boss or whatnot.

As for her uniform, I've never noticed that before! Huh, I'm so sure she's worn other outfits.

But yeah to answer that, its pretty much goes back to her personality. She's really not concerned w/ fashion sense is she?:P Plus, if you remember in the first season, Kyon is wondering how long she's been waiting for him and Haruhi in the clubroom. And in Bohemian Leaf Rhapsody, when kyon and Asahina traveled back in time, Yuki was still wearing the same uniform, and even glasses. So I guess that is her just her designated uniform for her mission on earth.

And I suppose the reason why Haruhi never points it out is b/c she's pretty self-absorbed if you hadn't noticed:P(sarcasm here) Plus, Yuki is already considered eccentric w/in that school so Haruhi just accepts it.

Ah, but then why did the masks interest her the first time?? Surely that's out of character for her? In previous instances when she's strayed slightly from her 'observation-only' path (like when she clearly wanted to join the computer club to mess around and experiment), she looked to Kyon for... permission, almost. Although... Kyon DOES offer to buy a mask for her, so maybe that's enough for Yuki to decide to get it.

And you're right! I *think* in the first of the EE episodes she wore her own clothes, and she has in done other episodes too, but it just strikes me as weird- uniform in the middle of summer, even if she is an alien.
Still, I love Yuki! Pretty kick-ass character when she needs to be.

And no need to point out sarcasm- I'm British XD

I haven't really thought of why she would buy the mask the first time. The fact that Kyon was going to get it for her that spurred her into getting it, that actually makes a lot of sense. He does have some influence on her which makes for interesting, intruiging character developement (that hasn't been repeated for 7 eps anyway--.--)

My own theory is Kyon's influence but also the fact that she might be ever so slowly starting to develop human tendency and emotion.

Like when she developed her computer hobby, or how she loves to read books. Also, and I only HEARD about this from someone online, that in one of the novels, during one of their misadventures, you can tell she actually gets annoyed when something she does doens't goes as planned. So there you go.

Yup, simple as pie, is our Yuki.

That actually kind of makes me think of a way that the Endless Eight would have potentially worked. If it focussed on Yuki, and showed her annoyance and boredom with it all, and eventually her snapping and doing the unthinkable, and really truly interacting in an active sense and breaking the loop herself. That way there'd be character development from one loop to another while still being able to keep the repeating format. It probably still wouldn't work as Eight episodes though (would anything?), but could easily be 3 or 4 episodes.
