could actually be worse SPOILERS

It's not the worst independent film made obviously on a small budget.

The main problem is that the cowboy hustler handyman has never gotten over the hit and run death of the young man who was his lover. But he aggressively goes after the husband. This is after the hypocritical husband makes it clear that he won't leave his wife, as hopeless as the marriage is. The cowboy is just a sex toy for him. When the hubby tells the cowboy about spending his life with him that his co-workers "at the firm would have a field day with that", you know that the younger man should go on his way. But he, too, has an unresolved issue.

After the sex starved wife sees the dark figures of her husband and the hustler through the window doing oral sex, she doesn't confront the husband about it then. Only a lot later does she ask him if he's gay. Of course, he denies it. She wants to keep up the pretense of hoping that he'll still come her way. She also shows a desire for the cowboy. When the husband comes home and finds the wife and the hustler on the couch, he is angry and wants to know what is going on. But he had told the hustler that he and his wife "have an understanding." That line was predictable. There is a fantasy dream scene
where his wife and the hustler have sex. This is where I thought the movie was becoming soft porn.

So, there are some improbabilities to the plot.

There are also the green walls and curtains in the livingroom that just seemed too bright. Is green supposed to mean natural feelings? In the bedroom, when she is puts on a negligee and tries to get the attention of the husband, in the background are lavender walls. Does lavender mean he is gay?

Although the ending makes clear some of the dialogue that is not completely explained throughout most of the movie, we don't know why the wife drives away. Is she hoping that the hustler will tell her husband why he is leaving him, but not hoping for what does happen?

At least, the ending to the movie is a more logical one than the alternative conclusion of "six months later", from deleted scenes. The ending we see takes into consideration the character and past of the cowboy.
