Laura Kightlinger Ugliest Woman on TV?

Or at least pretty close. She's got that one-too-many-plastic-surgeries look. I find it really hard to look at her.

Actually, she's had repeated surgeries for a degenerative jaw condition that was causing her to lose teeth and experience debilitating headaches. Her standup routine contains - or used to contain - a really funny bit about her operations featuring giant blowups of her medical x-rays.

reply

she isn't ugly. go watch e! or something.

reply

never heard anything about her having surgeries. i used to see her comedy routines, and never heard her mention anything then, either. maybe you had to be there :-)
i've always thought her attractive, in a funky, off-beat kinda way (certainly fits with the kind of series "jackie woodman" is). she's never been what you'd call classically 'hollywood pretty'; but i don't understand somebody calling her "ugly." then again, there really is no accounting for taste.
tara is supposed to be "the pretty one" on the show. there are times, though - like when they're coming out of that salon (jackie in the green jacket) in the season premiere - when i don't think there's any way tara is the prettier of the two.
lemme tell ya, if you want "ugly" women, you can find a surprising number on television...but, laura kightlinger isn't one of 'em.

Laura Kightlinger is a stone fox and funny.

I think Laura is hot.If you think she is ugly then you
need to get a good pair of glasses.

why would anyone even put a topic like this up? What is missing from this internet dork's life of oreo cookies, D & D, Kevin Smith chat rooms, and jacking off inside his Maxim magazines to girls he will NEVER EVER see naked? It's realy so sad. I feel sorry for you that you have to turn your self-loathing and insecurity outward. Maybe she isn't your cup of tea, but so %&^#*@ what?! Who cares? Who does it benefit to hear your opinion? Is she stalking you? Does she keep calling you wanting to go on a date? Did she run over your F-in dog?! As much as you want to hide inside your anonymous internet world of criticizing people you should know that there is a good chance that Laura may actually read this. IMDB is not just for dorks but for people who work in the industry, and I think it is lame that you think it's worthy to put that negativity out there. Look in a mirror. Would anyone put your fat ugly mug on TV?

reply

Interesting how you harp on me for insulting Laura, yet you have no qualms about being just as insulting towards me. But, what smart and horribly outdated these insults were. D&D? Seriously, is it '79? Did you feel a false sense of bravado after you finished typing frantically?

Let me share a piece of information w/ you that you may not no: The "entertainment" industry is... Surprisingly shallow!! Yes, you'll be amazed that in the biz, people judge other people by the way that they look! It's sad, but true, and if Ms. Kightlinger isn't prepared to take unkind words, than she definitely should not be on TV.

Keep the fan club running smoothly!

The notion that people who are on TV should expect to read that they are "The ugliest person on tv" is the lamest excuse ever! OR just because the entertainment industry is shallow that means we should all indulge it and join along is sad. Why not rise above it? I'm not saying you don't have a right to be spend your day writing mean things about people who put themselves out there, but why? what does it serve? If you had any balls (and looks were such a priority in your life) you would provide with your comment a link to a picture of you, so we could see why you would be such an authority on good looks. I'm not forming any Laura Kightlinger fan club, I just stumbled on your post and thought it was judgemental for no reason. she is a comedian, not f-ing jessica alba.

you're right, I had no qualms hurling those insults at you. And thank you for sharing your insight on the inner workings of the entertainment industry. I'm sure you know way more than I do about the "biz." Don't tell me... This is Robert Evans, isn't it?!

(by the way, people who use the term "the biz" should eat a bowl of herpies.)

hahahaaha!

nobody made an unkind statement toward Jessica Alba. read again. i was simply using her as an example because Jessica is the TYPE of actress that puts herself out there as a beauty. She is someone who relies upon her good looks... poses for Maxim... has her publicist make sure papparrazi knows when she is shopping at KITSON or eating at Earth Cafe. She is cast as a "hottie." That is who she is, and that's who she wants to be for you the audience. Therefore, it would be an understandable debate to discuss the merits of her "hotness." However, Laura is a writer and comedian. Notice I had nothing to say on the posts where people criticized her show, comedy, acting, ect... Go ahead, debate that. She put herself out there to have her art critiqued. I simply think your comment about her looks was boring and mean.

And actually, I am not defending Laura for no reason. I happen to know her. I happen to have worked with her. And she's actually a good person and a talented writer.

we could go back and forth with this exchange but I will crush you. Because I am sweet and you are lame.

reply

More than happy to go back and forth. Extra points for letting me know that I'm "lame." Sharp.

So, you know her and have worked w/ her??? OMG!! That's really great. Her show's terrible, you want to pass that along as well? Should everyone hold their tounge just because you might know someone they're talking about? Wouldn't want to offend you.

Point is, if you're in the limelight, people are gonna talk about you (isn't that what they want?). Some is gonna be good, some bad. That's the price of fame.

Eat your Coney Island!

reply

thanks for the extra points!

Man, you just don't get it. Yes, talk about her... Yes, you absolutely have the f-ing right to do so. No one is debating that, you moron! Go ahead! I am just asking you why? What does it do for your self-esteem to put a post like "the ugliest person on TV" up? You must be super hot, right? Really talented? And like I said before (even though it is appearent you don't read) I completely agree that people in the public eye are subject to critique. However, why don't you critique her show? Why don't you critique her acting? Be intellegent in your opinions. Don't be so typical... so lazy. And for the record I don't wish anyone to hold their tongue because i know her. I have no stake in criticizism of Laura Kightlinger. You just said that I was defending a random celebrity for no reason and I explained that she was not just "some celebrity." I don't think you should think it's cool that I know her. I don't. I was just correcting you.

It is just sad to me that you hide behind that *beep* "price of fame" crap to justify being an *beep* Sure it is appearant that it is the price of fame, but the truth is it doesn't have to be if people like you just decided... made the choice to be kind human beings.

reply

I think you are the one that doesn't get it. I'm going to say whatever I want about whomever I want. This is the internets, genius, and this is a message board and these are what message boards are for. You're not going to censor me just b/c you don't like what it is I'm saying. If anything I said bothers you so much you can always choose to just not read it.

I'm the moron? Who's the one that can't hit the ignore button?

"Eat your Coney Island!"

reply

hahaha! God, it doesn't matter how many times I say it, you just don't understand.

I KNOW YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT! You ABSOLUTELY have that right! And I KNOW this is the internet and filled with nerds who have nothing better to do than to dog on people far more talented and interesting then themselves! I GET IT!!! I have no interest in censoring you! Post away!!! I only asked you WHY? Yet, you can't give a straight answer as to your motivation for posting "Laura Kightlinger Ugliest Woman on TV". All you can tell me is that you can... that you will do whatever you want. Well, duh?! that is obvious. of course you CAN. And God bless you in your journey! I just was curious what motivates you to do it. You say this is what message boards are for. You are probably right. The saddest thing about human nature is our need to knock down others to make ourselves feel better. What went wrong in your life? What is missing? Who hurt you, little boy? Someday I hope you realize it's a lot more fun to live life positively than to be an *beep*

And you suggest that I am a moron for not being able to hit the ignore button. Has it occurred to you that I CHOOSE not to hit it, dumbass. That your feeble attempts at a cohesive arguement for why you are mean amuse me.

reply

Dance, monkey, dance! Wow. I CHOOSE to write whatever I want. I don't NEED to explain myself to YOU. GET IT?? Give you a straight answer? Seriously, stick it way in there, sister.

So, when you were working w/ Laura were you by chance her therapist? I love all these makeshift psychologists on these boards. "What went wrong in your life?" Priceless. "Someday I hope you realize it's a lot more fun to live life positively than to be an *beep*" Wow, it's like you know me.

I can see you're really excited about all the things you've learned in your Sociology classes at community college, but please, practice it somewhere else.

I'm mean? :o( It's a harsh world, little girl, get used to it.

"Eat your Coney Island!"

reply

hahahhahahaah. you're right. you dont have to explain yourself. and i'm sorry to analyze you. you go on posting. you're super cool. and probably super hot! do you get tons of chicks? I bet you do. probably have to beat them off with a stick! hope life brings you everything you deserve! You're awesome!!!! and I mean that... AWESOME!!!

reply

Again, it's like you know me! Best of luck w/ the classes and fan club. Please do tell the amazing Laura that I send my love!

"Eat your Coney Island!"

reply

there you go! you wrote something positive!! we did it! you and me! we turned something ugly into something beautiful!! this is a very touching day. :)

Yep! See, those classes you're taking are paying for themselves!

Nooo, Rose McGowan has started with the surgery? That sucks.
If I thought Kightlinger had all the surgery on purpose I might feel differently but when she talks you can see that her jaw doesn't align so maybe I just prefer to think it was that.
I hate that Meg Ryan has done it also.
What parts are these women going to play? All they can play are characters that have had thousands of dollars worth of surgery.
Did anyone buy Spiderman's poor uncle with thousands of dollars plastic surgery?
