This movie was cute in theory but a complete fairy tale and what woman is going to rag on a guy for his Self Esteem issues. Give me a Break.

A 10ish successful girl who runs her own business going out with a broke (below?) average looking guy only happens if:
-they have been dating since they were in highschool or college
-the guy is super confident and ambitious and has clear goals
-the guy is some kind of artist or something
But he had self-esteem issues and was insecure. He had a low paying job and had no clear ambitions or interests.
Girls like that simply don't settle for "nice" and "kinda funny" guys
I watched this movie five years ago. Guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

It does happen. Plus Molly havent realized Kirk has self-esteem issues until later part. During the family meal scene she does clarify why she is into Kirk, and those are reasonable reasons.

Just like the movie she is beautiful while I am just average. She is really into dancing, ballroom dances, and even belly dancing! She is also very athletic, she would drag me to all sorts of sports, roller skating, hiking, rock climbing etc (I am a complete couch potato). So you can imagine how fit she is. And dont even get me started on her business management skills. The only thing that I think I am naturally better than her is our height, I am a giant standing next to her, she has a really small frame.
I would rate myself 5~6 and she is 9. Nobody is 10 on my scale except for certain celebrities.

Yeah but this is just one of those few movies that forces you to suspend all belief, sit back, and enjoy while rooting for the guy.

your're mostly wrong, hot and ugly, the self-esteem thing you have all wrong. the only issue that struck me funny was that kirk had no ambition or passion for anything. Every girl I have ever met needs to see a guy has some motive for getting up in the morning.
