There Once was a War...

There Once was a War...

Where the Army was told that the local civilians would consider them as heros.
But in reality they were seen as conquerers and occupiers.

A war that the French were vehemently against.

A war that brought a highly trained Army quickly invaded and occupied the country only to fight a long protracted counter insurgency campaign.

Where after several years the Soldiers were demoralized, and the Generals were switched in order to get better results.

Where the conquerers hired Mercenaries who were hated by the locals,

But ofcourse I am not speaking of the war in Iraq, I am ofcourse speaking of the war that occured over 200 years ago right here in the US.

I am ofcourse speaking of the American Revolution.

You should write, with a realisation that the Internet is a Global, Nation Spanning Network.
