Impressive

After reading all of the negative comments about this film I was skeptical about watching it but I am glad that I decided to go against all of the criticism that it was receiving on this message board.

I have been watching film after film lately and have been disappointed over and over again. I am lucky that I came across this film because it is one of the first good movies that I have seen this year.

The Life Before Her Eyes was a beautiful movie. The symbolism throughout the film giving me clues along the way that Diana was the one that did not survive the school shooting were done very well. They were subtle and the timing of the scenes as she "looked back" to her youth were perfect. The song by The Zombies played repeatedly, the symbolism of the flowers, her daughter. May I mention the wonderful cinematography throughout.

The performances were great as well. I really enjoyed Eva Amurri and she is looking more and more like her mother it is astonishing, what a beauty. Evan Rachel Wood proved to be a great actress yet again and Uma Therman, who I usually am not too fond of even did very well in my opinion.

It is also nice to see a movie based around a school shooting that is not based on the killers or just the day it happened. Even though it wasn't actually her life the film gave the viewers an inside look at how a person can be affected by such an awful tragedy.

I loved this film.

I would love to read the book to see how it differs from the film.
