Cellphones in 1992??

That's an awfully small Motorola for 1992 in the scene where Diana and Maureen go over to the boyfriend in the truck. If I remember correctly, the Motorola my mom had in 1992 was a suitcase phone that was gigantic and had light up buttons on the back of the handle. Just sayin!!!

SPOILER

the young part of the movie actually wasn't taking place in 1992, it was taking place in present day. Everything with Uma Thurman was happening inside her younger versions head for what she imagined her life to be.

Below is a link that has some Motorola phones from 1992. They started making smaller phones that traveled well in the late 80s and early 90s. I think the more logical question would be how come a yahoo like that even had a cell phone. Cell phones didn’t start going mainstream until mid to late 90s, so in 92 it would only be the die hard techies, which he didn’t appear to be.

I think you have that reversed. It was all in 1992 - technically 1992 was ‘present day’, because the older Diana never really existed.

The movie was made in 2007. People are only using that "1992" year because it's 15 years prior to the movie's release date, when older (imagined) Diana would have been attending the memorial. So the shooting - and her imagined adult life - all happened in 2007.

Yeah, I really don't this was ever supposed to be taking place in 1992- it was present-day. You notice how there's never any mention of what year it was supposed to be?

If you understood the movie you'd know the WHOLE MOVIE takes place in 2007, the adult life is her imagination. Just sayin!
