Dale on CMT

Although I'm not a Nascar fan, I've heard that this documentary is a real tear-jerker for his fans, and non-fans as well.

The soundtrack will be released in late August, and the Documentary will be shown on Sept. 4th, 5th, and 6th, at 8:00PM ET/PT, on the COUNTRY MUSIC TELEVISION(CMT) cable channel.

Steve

Just to be sure, how long is it. I think it's 2 hours, but I don't want to just assume that it is.

Yes, the show is 2 hrs each night. See below for better update.

Will Dale be shown without commercial interruptions?

reply

I would say that there will be commercials. CMT is notorious for them.
Also, they are showing a prelude show on 9-4 @ 7PM ET/PT with celebrities paying homage to Dale.

So, if you want to tape all the action, I suggest setting your device from 7PM to at least 10:30PM. Also, the show is listed on 9-5 from 8PM to 10:15PM? So check your listings carefully!

Enjoy!! Steve

I'm watching it now, choking up, and loving every minute of it, commercials or not!

Absolutely amazing movie, even with all the commercials. At least the commercials weren't just random bull****, but were commercials for the sponsors of the show, all of which were sponsors of his in one way or another. I got choked up a few times, and actually cried when they showed the wreck that no one will EVER forget. I forgot what an emotional season that was, from Steve Park's win to that team's win at Atlanta to Jr.'s win at Daytona six months later. Amazing show and an amazing look into his life. I just hope it comes out on DVD soon!!!

However, what you saw was edited for TV meaning that some of the language was taken out. Wait til you see the DVD especially what he said about Jeffy Gordon during the end credits.

Wow! Where was I?!?! I am a huge NASCAR fan and have been waiting for this documentary for a long time. What a bonehead! I can't believe I missed its initial release back in February! I thought this showing on CMT was the first time it was shown; a made for tv kinda thing. Was it originally released in theatres nationwide? I did see a few profanity bleeps, so I would love to see the uncut version and what Dale says about ol' Jeffy boy!! I was never an Earnhardt fan, but I respected him and his ability as a driver, and this film was VERY entertaining and jerked out a few tears from me as well.

I know this is a little off topic, but it's going to be really interesting to see how well Junior fits in with the robot crew at Hendrick. Gordon and Johnson are good drivers, but are about as interesting as a five pound bag of fertilizer. And then Jimmie even told a reporter that Casey Mears is the comedian of the group. What?!?!?! Poor Junior. Well, I guess he can take his paycheck and laugh all the way to the bank. Like he needs more money.

It was a very limited release in theaters since theaters won't show unrated movies. (They treat them like NC - 17 films.)

If you see Jeff Gordon in your rear view mirror, put that S.O.B. in the wall. - Dale Earnhardt
