Not Minnie Driver's best, I'll agree.
I thought this movie was very...'freshman art school'. Trying to drag out emotions that we "know" should exists isnt very difficult. Suprised that the mother would cry for her missing/abducted son? No? Then why did we need to see almost 30 minutes of footage showing this? Freshman. Unhook the trailer to "lose our baggage"...yes, we know...we could see that coming a mile away.
I was not surprised to see this was the directors first attempt.
Not a 'terrible' movie, but a very basic textbook one.
The only saving grace would be the use of the backstories as creations in the other person's mind. If that was the directors intention, than that was a bit interesting. Sadly, the only bit of interest in the film.
It's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
