Question about the meat hook room...possible spoilers

When she was hiding in the meat hook room and ran into that dead woman, didn't her eyes open and she looked like a zombie or something? What was up with that? Maybe I'm remembering how it happened wrong but just thought that and the "children" deserved more exploration than they got.
