Last three lines of dialogue?
Nice film, right up until the last three lines: "I'm not young at all. I'm the oldest of men.... I'm a failure". I'm having a bit of trouble parsing that... was it a bad translation? Any suggestions?

share"Je suis le plus vieux des hommes ... Je suis vieux comme un râté"
More literally, that would be something like : "I'm the oldest of men... I'm old as a failure"
Not a bad translation. In his mind, a man who has failed might as well be dead. Failure is definitive -- what can he expect? The rest of his life will just be failure in chapters.
