Reminded me of Harvey Hart's SHOOT

As I was watching it, I kinda got the sense that maybe Ti West was inspired by Hart's forgotten gem SHOOT, especially in the early scenes where the hunters seem to wander around the woods for god knows how long, lulling you to sleep, so that when the big violent eruption happens, it comes as a total shock. Also, the whole hunters vs hunters angle seemed slightly borrowed from Hart's flick. The outcome, however, was different though but I'm guessing budget limitations determined the direction of the remainder of the film.

Rgardless, the final ten minutes of TRIGGER MAN were simply amazing. This was a great film all around and, looking back, I think it stands slightly above Hart's lost classic. Ti West and his cast/crew should be proud of themselves.
