Trigger Man is Awesome!!

Just saw this movie and I must say very impressive. In the vain of Gerry and Elephant but worked for me alot better then those films. Amazing film with no budget. See this now.

Nope.

Did we watch the same movie?

When I saw it at SxSW, there was a servicable story somewhere in there. But it was sacrificed on the altar of absolutely NO pacing.

I'm convinvced that there's more just straight walking in this movie than there is in any other movie known to man.

Then again, I didn't care for Elephant either.

Perhaps all that PacMan when I was growing up killed my attention span.

Wow. I can't disagree more. I saw this film at the LA Film Festival and it's stunk to high heaven. I've never seen a less enthused crowd after a filming of a movie. Their clapping at the end was clearly out of courtesy because the director (and all his buddies) was there. About the movie itself, the pacing was excruciatingly slow and there was so little dialogue. In fact, the most that was said in the whole movie consisted of a few quips about the movie Predator. I thought the action sequences deserve an honorable mention for such a low-budget flick. But, my god, surely it wouldn't have cost much extra to dream up something/anything for the characters to talk about while walking (endlessly at times) through the woods.

I wrote the exact same thing on another thread. The funny thing is - I don't think there was any clapping at the end. My teenagers and I ran out of there so fast it was crazy!

Geringerbo- are you connected to this movie somehow!? You are the only person who is asking people to go see the movie. It's horrible. I'd love to hear what you think is so good about it.

I have to agree with everyone else and comment on how NOT recommendable this movie is. It probably would have made a decent SHORT feature. There could not have been two pages of dialog in the entire movie. Which might work if there had been more than a page of action.

The only way I could see s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-g this movie out like this would be if there was some really well written conversations going on. I walked my dog for a couple hours today and I honestly think I said more... and at least I was walking instead of watching someone else walk. A little bit of camera work in the woods goes a long way. How did someone decide to make this feature length?

OH- I ALMOST FORGOT! Who chose the bizarro mullet hairdo guy as the protagonist by default? Since there was nothing else to go by I chose my favorite character by hairdo. I was hoping mullet-guy was not the last one standing, but apparently the full-backed urban #4 clipper mullet does not die. Poor guy will forever have that disaster on film. And there's nothing to take your mind off of it. Gee grandpa, I can't sit through this whole thing but what's with that hair?

I wouldn't call it amazing but I enjoyed it. I thought Gerry was amazing, something about that damn movie captivated me, so much so I had to watch the extra "the making of" which was just more of them walking...

Total crap of a movie.

I get that people were bored by the first half of the movie, but I thought it worked anyway. The last half was very tense and never boring.

reply

I agree. It was a great movie considering the budget they were working with. I loved the pacing which was perfect for a film about hunting - lots of quiet waiting and then sudden violence. The acting was OK, the location at the end was really atmospheric, and just the build up of tension was extraordinary. If Michael Bay is your favorite director then don't watch it, but if you like the idea of a very atmospheric and believable thriller then give it a go.

This movie was awesome! Totally understandable how people in the "Nightmare on Elm Street Remake" crowd would think it was crap. If there isn't a kill every four minutes people say it's boring...

Better than many movies in this genre.
