No, absolutely awful. Not scary, just annoying. 5 seconds of gore and a nipple. Looks like it was directed by a 7 year old.

Ghost stories never really were about gore and gore isn't all there is to scary movies. Silly kid. Adrian Paul is the reason I rented this, or never would have bothered. Haven't seen it yet but saw a movie with Tori White. Bonus good!
shareIt's certainly watchable, yes, but don't be expecting huge big-budget scares and twists - this is just one of your standard run-of-the-mill been-done-a-hundred-times-before ghost flicks with very little (if any) scares.
One thing that put me off this was the amateurish acting and the cheap-looking sets; it prevented me from being emersed in the film.
That said, if you're bored one Sunday afternoon, it's a good film to watch with the family (this is just as violent as an episode of Smallville).

I watched it in bed in the wee hours of the morn and the brightness turned all the way down to zero. My SO was sleeping and hates the light flickering. The last 30 minutes, my SO awoke so I turned the brightness back up. Eeww. I didn't like the cheesy appearance of the set and turned the brightness back down.
So to add to Stan's advice, watch it darkened. It'll be much creepier. There's nothing wrong with the plot, only one actress is extremely annoying, and the direction while far from great has its redeeming moments.
And I don't do horror types very often. Although it's more of a thriller (less blood & gore). The acting is better than your typical horror movie as well - the college kids come off very honest, the lead actress is good, the little girl (ghost) is well done and Spence (bad guy) is utterly chilling, and he hardly has any lines. There's a few errors/plot holes but over all it's well-conceived and, yes, obviously on a limited budget, a lot better than you'd think because of that.

shareAwful, awful movie. Just watched it with a friend tonight. It's not scary, it's not creepy, it's not enjoyable. We actually laughed every time we saw the "killer ghost" because you can't even tell who he's supposed to be at first, and when you realize it he's not threatening at ALL. Worst of all, the girl's neck cranked to the side CONSTANTLY was annoying as hell.
