The rescuers would have been stung by jellyfish

He could have left a huge sign on bathroom door

CAUTION - THERE ARE DEADLY JELLYFISH IN THE BATHTUB!!!

But no

Hopefully none of the rescuers would die, but it's not far-fetched that they'd get stung, and that immediate excrutiating pain would have definitely delayed the rescue, and had a horrible impact on the rescuers.

Way to go Ben/Tim. Harm some more people with your carelessness!

He did though. I noticed a sign he put on the floor right in front of the bathtub that said DO NOT TOUCH among other things that were too small to read. So yes, he did think of that.

reply

Yeah, perhaps if you didn't clock the massive sign in the floor you'd have seen the rubber gloves on the bath side for removing it...or not

reply

Sign on floor reads:
DO NOT TOUCH THE JELLYFISH!
BRING ME TO HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY!

I suppose they teach rescue workers to pay more attention to their surroundings than you did to this movie.

reply

Maybe they just killed it.

Was ist der Sinn des Lebens?

Actual the OP is completely correct.

Disclaimer: I know this is a movie and in real life a space engineer would probably have been smarter than just leaving a small note on the floor (if that's all he did in this movie universe).

Imagine it is real life for an instance and all he left was that relatively small note. First off the shower curtain that ends up on the floor could easily have ended up obscuring the note. Secondly the first responders might have simply missed the note in their rush to get him out of the bath or check his pulse.

I don't think it's a fault with the film but I found it highly amusing to think that maybe even two paramedics would die when they go to get him out of the bath.

They should have called it 21 pounds
