STILL CAN'T bring myself to watch this after 7 yrs....

I know very vaguely what the plot is about. My best friend in high school was a firefighter in the airforce. He was always running, did cross-country/soccer. Always put me to shame with his athletic ability. I remember visiting him in 07 I think it was. Hadn't seen him in about a yr at that point and I remember distinctly him talking about this movie. I looked up the plot synopsis and it sounded too moody for my tastes.

Within 1 year he had been diagnosed w/NH Lymphoma. Within 2 or so yrs, he was dead. I saw him last in early 09, they had cut his lung out and when he talked he weazed & could barely breathe his words out, I almost cried there on the spot. He died a few hundred miles away and his family had a private funeral. To this day I can't watch this movie both because of the subject matter & also because of the connection to my late friend.

Cancer's about the 1 thing that scares the f-ck out of me.....
