Interesting. I'm the one who is obsessed with conformity?
Quotes from you:
But your audience is convinced that this is FUNNY HA HA and we're having a blast hah hah... ha.
YOU might indeed be easily tricked into laughing at Black.
Just like NY intellectuals do it: a herd of independent minds.
All of my posts on conformity were only in response to this. I simply resented the assumption that everyone who finds Black funny is following the crowd. Not that it's entirely bad to blend into the scenery sometimes, but I don't make a habit of making choices of personal taste based on what others think. That would make my personal life incredibly boring when I wasn't around people I was trying to impress.
I don't really know where you get the idea that I've been trying to tell you that you are wrong for thinking Black isn't funny. I never said that. I even specifically stated that in an earlier post, but I will reiterate it now: You are entitled to your opinion (not that you needed my permission, anyway), but I will add that the way you handled this opinion did sound like you were accusing him or the network he aired on of some sort of bandwagon trickery, and that everyone who falls for it is weak-minded and conformist.
In response to the bullying comment, this is not a sensitive issue for me. I'm just killing some time. I like to argue, especially when I actually have a point to make.
What we've accomplished:
You don't think Lewis Black is funny.
I do.
Disagreements like this will happen no matter what anyone says.
That's okay.
Could've ended there, but hey, this has been an experience...
