Wasn't able to finish it, so a question.

I got about 3 episodes from the end and it had gotten so terrible that it made The Room look classy. I just can't watch it anymore (seriously, what the hell happened? Did Milch abandon it?)
So just out of curiosity, was Luke Perry's character revealed to the be the Devil, or at least the series's adversary? Because it seemed that was the way it was going.

Nope, he's just a sleazy agent who actually ends up slightly redeemed in the end because he sort of cares about the kid slightly more than just a paycheck

He's really not relevant to the overall plot, not that the plot really went anywhere in the end. He's just one of many side characters that become slightly less bad then they used to be by meeting John
