The reason Deadwood fans hate this show is.....

because it came on after Deadwood.
You would be crying the opposite tune if JFC had a 3 year run, was abruptly cancelled, and was then replaced by some western in which the main character is one of tv's worst actors....
this is sarcasm btw, I love both.

reply

So did I!
In addition to the above...JFC opened that same dreadful
night of the last episode of The Sopranos...
The night that we thought our TV's went out.
I still watch JFC. And I'm finishing season two
of Deadwood even now.

I gave up on Deadwood after two episodes because I just couldn't get interested in it. This series, I watched in full.

reply

I am confused. Why do ppl that like deadwood dislike Cinci?

Just because Milch did both? That makes no sense.
Thats like saying you hated Full Metal Jacket because Kubrik directed The Shining.

I liked both John from cincincatti and Deadwood!

The World Will Look Up And Shout "Save Us!" And I'll Whisper...Why So Serious?!

reply

Yeah, me too.. I think there are plenty of people who love both shows. Including my sister and some of my friends. And these shows aren't even well known in my country, cause no one has HBO here. At least no one that I know of.

reply

Because Milch inexplicably gave up Deadwood for that show at Deadwood's prime.

reply

Did I miss something? I always thought that HBO cancelled Deadwood, while Milch was planning the next season.

reply

He didn't "give up" Deadwood moron, he did everything in his power to try to keep it including trying to put some of his own money into it. HBO didn't fully own Deadwood and it was expensive to make, so they could make more money (in theory) with a new series that they own.

reply

At the time, I was under the impression that HBO and Milch had decided to cancel Deadwood in order to make JFC; I had complained about it on the Deadwood usenet newsgroup, and was quickly corrected by none other than Jim Beaver himself!
