You are definitely onto something when you say you liked the show more just because others hated it.
Except with me it's not about hating, it has more to do with the fact that this show was NOT mainstream, it was so obscure, and that's what drew me in.
Had it been hugely popular, I just couldn't imagine myself ever taking an interest in it the way that I had.
This is a case of quality over quantity. An ice cube in a desert.
