This movie was loosely based on Carolyn Jessop's flight from Polygamy.

It was verrrry loosely based on Escape From Polygamy. Katie Heigl was supposed to play the lead but apparently they went with Kelly. I'm glad it wasn't based on her book, because what Carolyn Jessop went through, was just awful.
