Didn't Judith seem a little TOO progressive??

How is it that she alone was so suspicious of their way of life? No one else seemed to even notice, never mind be bothered by it. How did she know where to go, when she escaped?

She just seemed like a visitor to the community from the start, not a member.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I think with Judith, she was more aware, or chose to acknowledge how the women were being treated. She saw her sister get raped at 12, her own 12 year-old daughter Alice was almost raped, and now they wanted to marry Alice off for 'protection.'
Like someone on another thread said, the men can have all the women/wives they want, but the wives can only be with their husbands.
Then you have guys like Nephi trying to rape 12 year-olds.

How those other women can look away and ignore that is beyond me!

And at the beginning, didn't those two men get kicked out of the 'cult' after being called out on their sins?
One of them "questioned the prophet."

Knock if off Napolean make yourself a dang quesadil-la!

I know your comment is old but I don't see how its beyond you. Women can be just as evil and unsympathetic as men. They can have children and completely not give a crap about other children and even their own

reply

Some women will even allow their husbands/boyfriends to abuse their children because "they love their man".

I wondered that too. If she started questioning it after her daughter was almost raped, that would be different. But she seemed to be questioning it right from the start.

Well remember when she said she was previously married? they were divorced because he was kicked out for being too progressive or not following their laws or something like that... so maybe she got the ideas from him
