Message from the Director

Thank you to all those who have taken the time to comment on "Grasshopper". The reviews posted here are the first I have received outside of friends and family. I was blessed to work with James and Rachel on this film, two actors who are at once professional and easy-going. I will be submitting "Grasshopper" to festivals throughout 2007. If interested, I will let people know where it will be playing, if and when we get accepted. Thanks again for all the feedback and interest.

With regards to the ending...

I initially wrote the story from a suicidal character's point of view, showing all the trappings which led up to her suicide. But, after a few drafts I decided to shift the point of view and tell this same story through the eyes of a stranger whose only interaction with this person occurs on the night of her death. This change gave the story, for me, an ending which provided a chance for hope and redemption.
