Better Version Out

This movie looks fairly lame. Here's a better rendition of the book to film format: http://www.flatlandthefilm.com/

Why is that one better? Is Martin Sheen in that one?

reply

Because this one's more creative and true to the book :P

This one is more creative and true to the book? Wouldn't that make this one better?

I just got it five minutes ago. I will watch it and give my opinion soon! LOVE the book.

yeaa.....seeing as how this movie isn't out yet, it's kind of hard to compare, you think?

'Flatland: The Movie' is now on DVD, so people can decide for themselves. It's at http://store.flatlandthemovie.com.

Here's what people who actually saw the movie said:

That's not what this guy said:

"From online clips, and descriptions, the shorter film (Flatland: The Movie) version of the book seems more faithful to the original, in narrative, and also more convincing in terms of look. The animation seems better, and, yes, not as ‘cheap.’ The animation in Ehlinger’s film smacks of too-'90s video game phoniness, especially in comparison to the visuals that The Movie offers." - Dan Schneider

The Movie has a different style that is a lot more childish but also more professional. The Film definitely looks cheaper, especially the 3D scenes, but overall I like the style a lot more as it's much more fun.
Still have to watch The Movie, though, to compare how the story was done in that one.
