Tom can't afford to pay the broadband bills anymore

So basically Tom wrote in his latest blog that the broadband bills have skyrocketed and he can't afford to pay them anymore without any sponsors or advertisers. So he took down all the videos from the channel.

He said that they are working on a new advertising system that will take at least several weeks to get to working.

I wonder if this means there will be no shows for months, which would suck.

I wonder how much the american markets and the Canadian comedy channel paid him for Tom Green's House Tonight, not enough apparently.

That's pretty crazy that he's paying the bills alone. It really shows the commitment he has for the channel.

The monthly bills were apparently tens of thousands of dollars.

Well unfortunately I would say that the show is over. It's a shame because it was something different back in 2006 - mid 2007 but all the re-launches that didn't work, the same guests every other week, technical problems, bad partnerships (maniaTV), reluctant advertisers (Bud Light), rubbish callers, inconsistent show start times, not to mention Tom's ego and narcissism and a very niche fanbase have made it die a drawn out death. I like Tom but he lives too far away from the talk show/industry part of town and I don't think he was prepared to get on the treadmill of being like all the other talk shows: monologue, jokes/clips/typos/random etc., first guest, second guest, musical guest. end. You have to be in bed with the talent agents and be willing to have on people whose films suck and who are pricks in order to get the big fish later on. it sucks but all the other shows do it to survive.

I can't remember when it was but there was a week with Val Kilmer, Bijou Philips, Harland Williams and Jeff Ross that was as good as it got, varied and interesting and technically sound. the rest was hit and miss. I think he will salvage something out of the experience maybe a funnyordie type video site that doesn't rely on live streaming. I emailed him loads of times to say he should have had more female actors on the show. the dynamic was always better when he was with a beautiful and talented female guest. I think he was reluctant to do the gross-out stuff that brought him fame, i don't disagree with him wanting to move on but you have to give the people what they want or give them a good reason why not. I dunno maybe he'll prove me wrong but I think if the 2008 re-launch couldn't bring in the bacon then nothing will. plus he must be sick of looking at all that equipment in his house. maybe he wants to move/downscale and that is hindering the sale. Tom Green is a survivor. He will do something and if this is the end of the talk show from his home at least he's getting out before he loses everything. He might even replace Conan when he goes off to do Leno's show, who knows?

Well, Tom just wrote a new blog and basically they got a new sponsor and he put all the videos back up again.
That was fast lol.

the sponsor won't last long if Tom has Andy Dick as a guest three times in four weeks. Good luck to him.
