Im not sure about your fist question, but Pedro was a Mongol aswell...even though we hear it often as a latin name, it probably originated from somewhere else a long time ago.

Lol. I was thinking the same thing. I was planning to watch this but when I saw Brian Dennehy, whom I love, as Kublai Khan, and having just watched the excellent, excellent version of Marco Polo on Netflix, I decided no way am I going to watch this version.
