For some reason had did not think it was going to be that good, but it completely surpassed my expectations. Funny, engaging, touching and real. Excellent. I look forward to the rest of the series.

shareYes it was a good start. What amazed me is that 30 minutes before it started, I had never heard of it. I've seen no promotional trailers from the BBC, which is unusual for this sort of programme. Does the BBC want it to succeed?

shareIt is very good. Why doesn't the BBC show more trailers? All we get to see is Waking the dead, Judge John Deed or the Truth about food. This series deserves much more attention!

i know - it was only by chance i saw the first ever episode as i was checking tv times and saw 'period drama' and thought it seemed a good drama - so glad i saw it in the tv guide or i would have missed a good show!!
although it has to compete with ugly betty - although i watch that on wednesdays so problem solved lol
