Oh my god the waah-waah harmonica soundtrack is horrible

Oh my god the waah-waah harmonica soundtrack is horrible--
its not period, its from the mid-1970s, but they put it
in a 1940s deathcamp. right.

My ears kept trying to vomit every time the harmonica came on...

I have to agree about the harmonica and that particular theme. Absolutely GRATING on the ears. And parts of it sounded like it was stolen from that '70s pop hit "I Will Survive." Intentional?

reply

Liked the music.

reply

Disliked the music.

Liked the music.

Didn't notice the music.

reply

lol, I knew it reminded me of something! I'm pretty sure it wasn't intentional!

reply

You mean the tango??

reply

I guess I'm in the minority. I liked it so much I'm buying the soundtrack. It was pretty much an attempt at recreating European popular cafe music of the era. Harmonica and accordian were really big back then in Europe.
The guitar work by Ahmed El-Salamouny was excellent.

Loved the music too...am also thinking of buying the score/soundtrack.

reply

Just bought the soundtrack myself.

reply

i'd say it's a general music from Monte Carlo, while he is remembering.

reply

Indeed, the music is authentic, it's the people commenting here that it is 1970s who are not

reply

I think the instrument was a bandoneon, used a lot in tango music. I first heard it in TANGO BAR with Raul Julia and fell in love with the sound.

Hugo Diaz is the artist from which the harmonica music was taken, and he is an artist from the 30s and 40s, as someone else has stated.

reply

This music was terribly inappropriate at times.

reply

Authentic or period it may be but it does not blend well with the movie. It's grating, not great.
